Margate's Dreamland theme park scraps entry charges

A theme park which called in administrators after reopening in a blaze of publicity is changing its prices in a bid to attract visitors.

Dreamland in Margate, which went into administration last month, is scrapping entry charges and charging per ride or for a rides wristband instead.

Lightning Rod coaster closed at Dollywood due to recalled parts

The opening of Dollywood's new roller coaster was short lived.

The park announced Saturday it was closed as part of a recall.

Birthday girl, 90, banned from riding theme park's white-knuckle ride

A great-grandmother who wanted to ride a roller-coaster to celebrate her 90th birthday was gutted when health and safety bosses banned her from the rides.

Joyce Wathes, from Tamworth, Staffs, had been looking forward to riding the white knuckle rides at Drayton Manor Theme Park with her great-grandchildren.

The new development will take place on the former site of The Flume, bordering Mutiny Bay and Katanga Canyon.

The project will include the wooden rollercoaster structure, sound tunnels and noise screens, as well as a substantial combined maintenance building, station and shop.

Olympic Park Orbit tower slide tickets go on sale

Tickets have gone sale for the world's "longest and tallest tunnel slide" down the Orbit Tower, next to the Olympic Stadium.

The £3.5m ride will measure 178m (584ft) in length and 76m (249ft) in height, with the descent taking about 40 seconds.

The attraction in east London will be open from 24 June.
