Review of Southport Pleasureland
Southport Pleasureland is situated in a seaside resort. It has a huge range of rides for all ages but the rides are all standard mobile fairground type. It regularly rotates its rides but most of the time, half dont work.
Southport operates on a token system where tokens are put on an electronic card and then scanned on the rides. Each ride costs between 2 and 3 tokens with 1 token costing £1 so it very quickly becomes quite expensive.
From my experience I have found that the rides are poorly maintained and appear to be in a dangerous condition. One ride in particular called "Wild Cat" is a wild mouse type coaster ride. The car you are in has to be pushed from the station by the operator to get you to the lift hill. This is due to none of the breaks on the ride working. once around the track the operator then has to catch you to stop the car from crashing into the waiting car in front.
The park gets messy with rubbish and there are a lot of local youth who hang around the park as it is free entry if you are not riding.
In my opinion, I would not advise anyone to visit Southport but advise that your money be better spent with a half hour drive to Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
