Speed No Limits – Oakwood Theme Park Review
Speed No Limits is the first UK Eurofighter roller coaster at Oakwood Theme Park, and is also the only inverting coaster in Wales. Built in 1996 this amazing coaster will take you vertically to 115ft where you get a few seconds to take in the beautiful view of the park, the whole coaster and beyond to the Welsh mountains.
Once you have taken in the view there is a 110ft drop at 97 degrees followed by the best airtime hill I have ever experienced. At this point don’t forget to smile for the camera. Take the corner and then straight into the first inversion which is a great loop.
After the loop things seem to slow down a bit as you reach a breaking point, but this isn’t the end. You then enter into a roll and then into a double helix. You really can feel the full force of 4.5G pushing down on you whilst in the helix before reaching the next stopping point and returning to the station.
Speed is an awesome coaster and although it has no theming to it, it really doesn’t need it. In my opinion, I prefer Speed to Saw at Thorpe Park, mainly for the view and a lot to do with the helix. If you visit Oakwood any time soon, I defiantly 100% recommend you ride Speed No Limits.
